spc environment...
this month the challenge is to show yourself in your surroundings, using your environment as a marker of who you are.
when i think of environment i immediatly think of the outdoors...of nature but i guess the reality is that one's environment is as personal as they are and is not necessarily outdoors but for me it is...the outdoors is who i am.
it is where i spend most of my free time in all seasons and what i do outdoors changes from time to time and from year to year but the thing that remains constant is that i have a need to spend time out side.
from early spring to late fall and sometimes under certain conditions even into the winter months you will find the guy and i riding. to the mountains, to the country, to the city or just around the neighborhood. we ride to work, we ride for recreation, for relaxation, for fun and adventure, to appreciate our surroundings and to be a part of nature in a way you cannot be from inside a car or a beach house or your home or office.
it is not quite the same as hiking or walking or touching the earth but it is a way to see more of the world than you can by foot and have a little fun at the same time! a few years ago i started the habit of photo documenting our rides with sometimes hundreds of photos each time. one of my favorite things to do is to take photos on the move. keeping in mind that i am operating a camera on the back of a motorcycle moving at oftentimes high speeds or on bumpy roads...sometimes you get blurr, sometimes you stop the action, sometimes you get your own feet or your shadow, or a reflection of yourselves in a passing window and sometimes you accidently press a button you did not intend too
and get some wierd exposure. i think i like taking photos from the back seat of the yamaha more than i like taking self portraits but i have begun to combine the two and although i won't show you all one hundred or so of them i cannot choose so i will give you a few!
well in all honesty this is quite a few more than a few and no...i am not usually wearing a helmet and letting my hair fly around for only the short time that it did was a huge mistake that took a half hour minimum to remedy. see more spc's here!
Such tender photos--I can see why you love taking them so much. Just beautiful!

Awesome shots. I especially love that very last on of both of you smiling. Looks like you're having a great time. The top one with the sun shining through your glasses is really cool too. Also, in one of them if you look really closely, you can see a dancing monkey in the reflection in your sunglasses --
--just kidding!
